There is lots to see and do in this part of the world, from villages with unique gift and coffee shops, lochs and rivers to walk by, hills to climb, cycling, ski-ing, golf, gliding, castles, whisky tours and much more! Here are just a few of our favourites…
Loch Kinord, near Dinnet, just a mile or so from the cottage. There’s a marked path all the way round.
Crathes Castle, a National Trust property, is a traditional Scottish castle with beautiful gardens, and a ghost!
The Burn O’Vat, just round the corner from the cottage, is an awesome cave and waterfall, also known as Rob Roy’s cave.
Lochnagar is a Munro (over 3,000 feet high). It’s easy to reach by road and well worth the climb. On a clear day you can see the Forth Bridge from the summit.
